Eva Longoria Banned From Getting Pregnant

Eva Longoria, the wife of San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker, has been told by Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry that she cannot get pregnant for the next 12 months. Eva plays the sexy Gabrielle Solis on the hit ABC TV show, and she was told by Cherry that if she gets pregnant, it would ruin the show’s plot line. Hmmm, is being banned from getting pregnant in her contract?

Eva explains:

“Gabrielle can do anything and go anywhere because she doesn’t have kids and she’s not limited. So when she’s in these love triangles and quadrangles – dating, not dating, whatever – I think she’s a true representation of what some women go through. I love all the exciting adventures she goes on.”

The storyline of Desperate Housewives is mapped out the whole season, so if Eva sported a baby bump, that could prove to be a difficult task for Cherry to write around, much like when Desperate Housewives co-star Marcia Cross became pregnant unexpectedly last year. So Eva is taking it in stride, spending time with Tony as a married couple for the next year before they bring a child of their own into the world.

Eva is unlike the spoiled Gabrielle she plays on TV – she cooks, cleans, and sews – quite the domestic goddess and could give Bree a run for her money. She’s putting her cooking skills to work – opening up a Tex-Mex restaurant called Beso in Hollywood this November. Look for her to be seating you to your table and making fresh guacamole.

In the meantime, life is great for Eva and Tony (who were married July 7, 2007 in Paris), and the main thing she wants to focus on is each other, “”so we’ll be ready to have a child when it comes along. I believe God will bless us with the baby when the time is right.”
