Harden was not exactly hoping for the sort of a game the Cubs had with the Yankees on Saturday afternoon as he was pounded for as many as eight runs in the 1-10 loss at the new Yankees stadium. He threw 76 pitches for only 41 strikes and was hit for three homers by Mark Teixeira and Derek Jeter.

Although, Harden was disappointed about his performance, he was confident that he’ll bounce back after missing last five innings due to an arm injury.

“I feel strong throwing as many pitches as I’ve been throwing,” he said. “It’s not an issue at all.”

As a biography, Rich Harden was born on November 30, 1981 in Victoria, British Columbia so his age is 27. He attended Central Arizona College and graduated in 2001. He was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 17th round of the 2000 MLB Draft.

Harden started his MLB career with a match against Kansas City Royals in 2003 and finished the season with an ERA of 4.46 and a 5-4 record. His next season was better and he was ranked 8th in the American League.

His further career was battered with frequent injuries and he was subsequently traded to the Cubs in July 2008. His performance with them has always been average and he earned his first win as a Cub against Milwaukee Brewers. Chicago re-signed him in October last year by picking up a $7m option.
