Sean O’Hair could not hold on to his five shot lead ahead of Tiger Woods going into the final round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational today, as Woods slowly made his way to coming within one shot of O’Hair at the 7th hole. At the final hole, Woods delivered with a 16 foot putt for the victory, one shot over Sean O’Hair.
As a biography, Sean O’Hair was born on July 11, 1982 in Lubbock, Texas, so his age is 26. He stands 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 165 pounds.
O’Hair attended Brophy College Preparatory School in Phoenix, Arizona, and turned professional after his junior year. O’Hair did not attend college. His father, Marc O’Hair, had a share in the family shutter business in Lubbock and sold it for $2.75 million in order to help Sean turn pro. They soon moved to Florida and Sean attended the David Leadbetter Golf Academy.
He turned professional in 1999. It was not until the 2005 season where O’Hair had some success on the course. He was the John Deere Classic winner and took second place at the EDS Byron Nelson Championship. His accomplishments earned him the 2005 PGA Rookie of the Year title.
In 2006, he would place fourth at the Buick Open in Michigan and was third at the Canadian Open. He did finish in the Top 15 at the British Open and PGA Championship.
In 2007, he tied for 7th at the Verizon Heritage. That finish was his best on the PGA Tour since 2006, while at the Canadian Open. His 2008 season was highlighted with a win at the PODS Championship.
