New England Patriots QB Tom Brady would like to get some time off for the birth of his first child with his ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan. Brady will need to get the time off ok’d by Patriots coach Bill Belichick but hopes that he’ll be granted the time off. The Pats have an exhibition game this Friday against Carolina and another game against the Giants next Thursday. Regular season play starts September 9th, with a game against the Jets. Brady was asked if he knew when the baby would be born. He replied:
“I wish I did,” Brady said with a smile. “That’s God’s decision. The good lord is making that call. So I think everybody’s anxious. I’ll put it that way.”
Bridget Moynahan and Tom Brady split last December, before the pregnancy was announced, and he is now dating supermodel Gisele Bundchen. Coach Belichick spoke of Brady taking time off:
“[Personal situations] are all talked about and dealt with on an individual basis. It doesn’t matter who the player is. There are plenty that have come up through the course of the year. I’ll deal with them like I do all of them.”
I’m more interested to see what will happen to Brady after this baby is born. He’s got a lot on his plate. Ex-girlfriend gives birth to baby, new season starting, relationship with supermodel. Time will only tell if his focus can remain on the field.
ET Online is reporting that Bridget Moynahan gave birth earlier today (8/22) to a baby boy. No other details are provided.
