Tomasz knocked out Johnathon Banks in eight rounds to retain his cruiserweight crown in a fight held at the Prudential Center in New Jersey. He now stands at 37-1 with 25 KOs. It was his first defense of the title he won eleven weeks earlier beating American Steve Cunningham in the same arena.

As a biography, Tomasz Adamek was born on December 1, 1976 in Żywiec, Poland so his age is 32. He rose to fame in the boxing scene when he won the WBC light heavyweight title after beating Paul Briggs in May 2005. He then defended his title successfully two times against German Thomas Ulrich and Briggs again.
Adamek then lost the crown to Chad Dawson in February 2007. He then moved on to win the IBF cruiserweight title beating Luis Andres Pineda. He also won the IBO title later by defeating Steve Cunningham during what was then called the fight of the year. He also won the the Ring Magazine Cruiserweight Championship.
