Ms. Roberts is the Sports Illustrated reporter who broke the steroids story by revealing to the world that A-Rod tested positive for steroids in 2003. Instead of congratulating her on a job well done, Alex Rodriguez came unglued.

Rodriguez also criticized Sports Illustrated and said Selena Roberts, one of its reporters who covered the story, stalked him. He also accused Roberts of trying to break into his home last week while his two daughters were sleeping.

“What makes me upset is that Sports Illustrated pays this lady, Selena Roberts, to stalk me.”

“There are some really respectable journalists that are following this lady off a cliff.”

Earlier in her career, Ms. Roberts covered the Orlando Magic and Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the Orlando Sentinel and the Minnesota Vikings for The Minneapolis Star Tribune. She also reported on auto racing including NASCAR racing.

As a black mark on her record, she was heavily criticized for her coverage of the Duke Lacrosse case in which she was reluctant to give the innocent players a fair hearing.

She responded to A-Rod’s far-fetched allegations by responding in the following way:

“The allegations made by Alex Rodriguez are absurd,” said Roberts, in the statement. “I’ve never set foot in the lobby of Alex’s New York apartment building, never spoken to the University of Miami police, and never set foot on his home property or been cited by the Miami Police for doing so.”

    NYJ Says:

While editing for this piece is obviously non-existent (Roberts is a “biography?”), perhaps it would be better to withold opinion in lieu of facts. Characterizing Mr. Rodriguez’ comments as “far-fetched” without first obtaining confirmation or denial from the legal agencies named reveals a clear bias and a lack of professionalism. While Ms. Roberts may indeed be a respected journalist, “Risemoon” is clearly not.

Selena Roberts is a parasite. She is looking to make a living by feeding off of A-Rod. She has no credibility.

Selena Roberts does not like ARod so she is
going to make his life a living hell. Her

    Tim Pyle Says:

Is this the same Selena Roberts that compared the Duke Lacrosse team to gang members and rapists? Didn’t she lead the charge against the players in the media?

Did Roberts ever print a retraction? Is there any reason on earth I should lend credibility to anything she says? Huh? Any? I’m just asking ….

she proved with the duke lacrosse case that she doesnt care about facts, she’s a misandrist. moreover she’s too aggressive, breaking the law and pushing the limits of journalism to stalking a baseball player, for what purpose?

uncover a great scandal which affects our health or financial situation? she’s found the next madoff?

no, she wants to run down a white man’s sport by tearing down it’s biggest icon. (im sure it’s not lost on her that arod sleeps with madonna and one gogo dancer).

she’s said as much-in fact, she complains that there’s too much criticism of african americans in sports for committing felonies, and why they do it.
we shouldnt ask these questions, but should challenge white people for their interest in go go bars, which he sees as symptomatic of white athletes. of course, the problem there for her is that heterosexual contact is bad, period.

i dont see arod hanging dogs, but that’s neither here nor there to her.
she sees things in antiwhite perspective.

why? she’s ugly and had no luck with men, probably beginning with her parents-dad not home, abusive, domineering mom or abuse at the hands of kin or guardians. Just another Oedipus victim playing it out on society.she looks like an albino gorilla.
we are such junkies for yellow journalism that we feed her.
SI is dying, so they promote her trash.

    simply amazing.

The Duke case doesn’t help your case that she’s a “competent” journalist.

I’m kind of glad that she’s being dragged through the mud, though. Her articles at the back of SI are unbearable to read. All she ever writes about is horse racing or golf. She also manages to choose terrible subject matter too. Top that off with her writing not being particularly engaging, and this controversy is a blessing in disguise for Sports Illustrated.
