India Win Series: Sachin Again Disappointed

February 3, 2009

India won the third one day international against Sri Lanka by 147 runs to capture the five-match series by advancing 3-0. Although, the win is said to be one of the best by the Indian team, the dismissals of Sachin Tendulkar have been a big issue for the team.

Sachin was wrongfully dismissed under 10 runs for the third time in as many matches in the series and this is certainly not acceptable. If I would have called the shots over there, I would have boycotted the entire series and called the team back to home. The umpires proved to be very biased towards the home team and gave the wrong decision against Tendulkar for the third time straight.

Meanwhile, Indian team was explosive in the first innings, scoring at will and making a score of 363 runs thanks to centuries by Sehwag and Yuvraj. They were 24-2 at one time and they went on to make an unaccessible total. Sri Lankans fought hard for the target but were dismissed for just 216 runs.

The highlight of the match was certainly the over 200 runs partnership between Sehwag and Yuvaraj which gave the much-needed edge over the islanders. Congratulations to Yuvraj for completing his 11th ODI century and winning the Man Of The Match award. I just hope that India wins the last two ODIs to get on top of the world rankings.

One more thing… a standing ovation to Sachin Tendulkar for not making a fuss about being wrongfully declared out in the past three matches. I know every Indian is furious about the issue, but we should keep faith in God’s justice.

    Spot on about sachin.
If you count the number of wrong decisions he has got in his career, it would be another world record!
But again, kudos for his grace and class in accepting them quietly.
