Meet Ben Graham, a professional footballer who plays for the Arizona Cardinals. Graham is the first Australian to have made it to the Super Bowl game. See a video and a biography of Ben Graham here.
Graham is speculated to be one of those unlikely heroes who come out of the shade into the limelight during all the Super Bowl games. Despite a late entrance in the team, he has made a special place with his deep pinning abilities. The guy helped the Cardinals quite a lot during the playoff games.
“We made a change with a few weeks left in the season at that position because we felt that in the playoffs it was going to be important. He’s brought a stabilizing influence to that, as well as an ability to pin the punts deep, which is something that is really advantageous,” says coach Whisenhunt.
As a biography, Ben Graham was born on 2 November, 1973 in Leopold, Victoria, Australia so his age is 35. He attended Deakin University and played in the Australian Football League for the Geelong Football Club from 1993 to 2004. He played almost 219 games and won the Best and Fairest award.
Graham decided to move to America in 2004 to try out in the NFL. He was drafted by the New York Jets and when he played his first game, he became the fourth Australian and the oldest rookie to start the season. He signed a six-year $5m contract with the Jets and was named the captain. He was later released in September 2008.
Ben later joined the New Orleans Saints only to be released in just a week. Finally, he seems to have been settled down with the Cardinals after being signed up on December 1st last year. He will now play in his first Super Bowl champion.
