Keauna McLaughlin is in the news as she and her partner, Rockne Brubaker, took third place at Skate Canada last weekend.
They will wait to find out if they are one of six teams who qualify for the Grand Prix final in Seoul this December.
As a biography, Keauna Inaba McLaughlin was born on September 25, 1992 in Tarzana, California, so her age is 16. She currently lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado and is a student at Cheyenne Mountain High School. Her mother is a former ice skater, having skated with the Disney On Ice production.
Keauna originally got her start as a single skater. In 2006, she was a Juvenile silver medalist winner. She moved on to pairs skating when she was 10 years old, partnering with Ethan Burgess. Together they won the bronze at the 2004 U.S. figure Skating Championships and the pewter medal at the 2005 U.S. Figure Skating Championships.
Keauna became Rockne Brubaker’s partner in 2006. Their partnership has proven to be successful, as they have won numerous titles:
-In 2006-2007 they won 1st place at the U.S. Championships, Junior Grand Prix Final, Junior Grand Prix Taipei and Junior Grand Prix Hungary.
-2007-2008 they took 1st place at the U.S. Championships and 2nd place at NHK Trophy and Cup of China.
-Thus far in the 2008-2009 season they placed 2nd at Skate America and most recently 3rd at Skate Canada.
