Canada Delta Cheerleader Streaking Scandal! Cheerleaders. Streaking. Duct Tape, Oh My! Read more about this scandalous (heh heh) story from Canada, plus photos and video here!
The Delta High cheerleaders in Delta, B.C. were more than likely the topic of conversation for the folks in Delta last week after a majority of the senior cheerleaders ran across the field during halftime on October 28th wearing only their underwear and duct tape across…yup…their breasts. They ran toward the opposing team (the Lord Tweedsmuir Panthers) and sprayed them with silly string. Streaking is apparently a tradition at Delta High. Rochelle, one of the streakers, said:
“It’s just kind of like a fun [graduation] prank for our year, and it’s been going on for a couple of years now. It was pretty much out of fun.”
Ted Johnson, principal of Delta High, warned the students last month that they should not streak at the final game of the season. And what kind of punishment did these cheerleaders receive? Surprisingly enough, nothing. Only a slap on the wrist, but they were told that they would be suspended from school if they do anything naughty again. What will they do next year? Will the streaking tradition end? Who knows, but according to Dianne Turner, the assistant superintendent for the Delta School District, “We have discussed a number of possibilities for next year, including a fabulously choreographed dance routine with music.” Um, boring…
