Carrie Underwood and ex-boyfriend Tony Romo
In a new interview with Elle, county sensation Carrie Underwood retracts statements she made about ex-boyfriend Tony Romo back in August. She says:
“I don’t think people realize that when you do an interview, the magazine comes out six months later. It was just something that was said in passing, and I would never mean to say anything to hurt anybody or to stir up anything, because I’m just not about drama.”
The “in passing’ comment was in an interview she did with Allure over the summer. The magazine wrote that Underwood said:
“We were both small-town people doing very big things, and we relied on each other, dealing with fame. I don’t know. The phone will ring and it’ll be him, and I’ll maybe not answer.”
Underwood now states that quote was taken out of context, and says she has not spoken with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Romo since May. Obviously, Romo’s current girlfriend Jessica Simpson did not like that comment, and she even told a Nashville radio station that she knew for a fact that Romo and Underwood were not talking on the phone. Since, it has been reported that Underwood and Simpson have been cat fighting through the media, and OK! Magazine went as far as to say Underwood called Simpson fat.
Fellow American Idol alum and country singer Kellie Pickler came to Underwood’s defense, stating:
“[Carrie's] so talented, and she’s sweet and beautiful—all in one package. For anyone to say anything bad about her—I think they’re jealous.”

There’s one little thing. Tony and Jessica were a couple in May and Tony was calling Carrie in May.
Jessica knew when that article came out in August that was said in May and she still went on public radio in Nashville and San Franscico and called Carrie a liar. Jessica does articles all the time and knows there is a time difference. The Allure mag. even stated the interview was given on May 9th the day before carrie was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry. Jessisa just had to call her a liar because it would look bad if her bf was calling his exgf.
So take that Jessica, once again Carrie says Tony was calling in May.
