Lewis Hamilton: Youngest F1 Champion?

McLaren Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton is all set to become the youngest ever Formula 1 champion. Lewis is almost seven points clear of the second placed Felipe Massa of Ferrari.

Hamilton just needs to finish fifth or higher in the final race in Brazil to win the coveted title. Even if he finishes a bit below, he would just have to hope that Massa doesn’t win the race.

Anyways… every Englishman will be praying for him. He’ll be first Britain’s first champion since Damon Hill in 1996 if the fate rests with him. Last year, it was the Brazilian circuit only, where Hamilton lost out in the championship battle with Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen who was, ironically, seven points behind him before the final race.

“I remember last year, going into the final race, I was really on the back foot,” he told Britain’s Observer newspaper.
“I felt the whole country, the whole world … I just felt this huge weight on my shoulders. I went in and made several mistakes and we dropped back. This year, because I’ve experienced it, I’m much better prepared.”

Meanwhile, Lewis has expressed his desire to be a rock-star recently. He wants to launch a music career with girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger.

He said: “I do love music. It’s something I’d love to be able to do some day. I don’t believe that I have that talent, but I’ve had a whirl, like the millions of people who do.”

Hamilton met the Pussycat Dolls singer at the MTV awards in Germany last year.
