Megan Abubo is set to defend her Vans Triple Crown title, as the first event, the Reef Hawaiian Pro, starts on November 12 at Haleiwa Ali’i Beach Park and runs through November 23rd. The Roxy Pro will be held November 24th through December 6th at Sunset Beach, and finally the Billabong Pro will be held December 8 through the 20th in Maui. Good Luck to you, Megan!




Megan Abubo Biography

As a biography, Megan Abubo was born on January 28, 1978 in Hartford, Connecticut, so her age is 30. She moved to Hawaii at 8 months of age, and still calls Hawaii home. She is the middle of three sisters.

She got the surfing bug when she was 10 years old and soon was competing in the sport. She has six ASP (Association of Surfing Professionals) World Championship Tour wins under her belt, along with a 2001 World Championship second place win and finished fourth in 2005.

Megan was the stunt double for Michelle Rodriguez in the movie Blue Crush (2004) and has appeared in several TV shows and videos focused on surfing. She graced the pages of Rolling Stone Magazine and surfer mags as well.

Megan is the spokesperson for Keep A Breast, an organization that raises money for breast cancer research. They focus on educating youth about breast cancer through prevention, early detection and support. Breast casts are made of famous athletes and artists, and are later auctioned off on Ebay. This cause is near and dear to her heart, as her sister is a two time breast cancer survivor.
