At the State Fair of Texas in her native Dallas, Jessica Simpson told concert goers:
“Wow, I love Dallas. Obviously, I love Dallas because I grew up here and this is my home – you guys are my family – but I did find an amazing boyfriend here in Dallas!”
She also referred to Romo, who was in attendance, as “the calm of the storm in my life” and said “Whatever I go through, I know I can depend on him to relax and bring me faith again.” Her gushing reportedly got a big reaction out of him, as he grinned and “beamed” throughout her comments. He was also seen singing along with some of her songs and bobbing his head with the music.
Before singing My Sunday, she also said “This is a song I wrote about a certain someone who throws that football really good.”
Jessica also told the crowd:
“Sometimes, to find a love as big as that, you have to go through some heartbreak, some ugly ones and some butthead ones. You go through that to really appreciate where you are in life right now.”
Jessica Simpson has been dating Tony Romo since November 2007. Many Dallas fans are unhappy with the union, as they feel she is a distraction to Romo on the field. They blame her for many of Dallas’ losses last season, and have nicknamed her “Yoko Romo.” Jessica and Tony reportedly briefly broke up, but rekindled their romance when Jessica’s younger sister Ashlee married Pete Wentz.
