Meaghan Francella: An American Golfer

Meet Meaghan Francella, an American professional golfer who also plays on the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour. See photos, video and a biography of Meaghan Francella here.

Meaghan opened with a 2-over 74 in the Navistar LPGA Classic in Prattville, yesterday. She was tied 86th after the opening round.

As a biography, Meaghan Francella was born on May 12, 1982 in Port Chester, New York so her age is 26. She went to high school in the School of the Holy Child in Rye, New York and the attended the University of Memphis where she was also named as the Conference USA Freshman of the Year in 2001.

Francella was the 2003 Atlantic Coast Conference individual champion. She joined the Futures Tour after the college and was ranked 65th at the 2005 LPGA Qualifying School. On the tour, she had six top-10 finishes and won an event also.

The biggest win of her career came when she won the 2007 MasterCard Classic while holding off Annika Sorenstam in the process. Her other achievements including getting the cut for U.S. Women’s Open and Women’s British Open in 2007. She was also an NCAA First-Team All-American in 2004.

Meaghan holds a degree in communications.
