Karen scored two goals in a recent Arsenal win over a financially-strapped club Doncaster Rovers Belles. She scored in the 18th & the 22th minute in the overwhelming 6-1 win.
As a biography, Karen Carney was born on August 1, 1987 so her age is 21. She has been playing from a very early age and joined Birmingham City at the age of just 11. After just three years, she was included in the club’s first team which played in the Premierships.
Carney has been said to be one of the ‘boldest and the brightest’ players in the English National team. She debuted internationally with england beating Italy 4-1 in 2005 and Karen scoring the fourth goal after coming off the bench. She then cemented her place in the team and went on to play in the European Championships and World Cup in China. Her late-minute goal in England’s 3-2 win over Finland gave Karen a lot of media fame.
She was voted the FA Nationwide Young Player of the Year for both 2005 and 2006.
Just recently, Carney was picked up by the Chicago Red Stars during the 2008 WPS Initial International Draft.
