Nathalie Dechy Is Tennis Doubles Expert

Meet Nathalie Dechy, a French professional tennis player who has been one of the most successful doubles players in the history of the Open. See photos, video and a biography of Nathalie Dechy here.

Nathalie is a three-time doubles Grand Slam champion, winning the 2006 and 2007 U.S. Open women’s title and 2007 French Open mixed doubles title.

As a biography, Nathalie Dechy was born on February 21, 1979 in Les Abymes, Guadeloupe so her age is 29. She began playing professional tennis at the age of 15 and started out with the first ranking of 670.

Nathalie won the Rome Masters in 2007 and Paris Masters in 2002. Her biggest moment came when she reached the semifinals of 2005 Australian Open, eventually loosing out to Lindsay Devenport. Dechy has been playing for a long time with her ladies partner Vera Zvonareva and mixed doubles partner Andy Ram. At the recent World Championships, she lost out to Ana Ivanovic who was the reigning French Open champion.

Dechy’s highest world ranking till date is No.11 in singles and No. 8 in the doubles. Her career record includes four WTA and one ITF titles.
