Meet Jessica Mendoza, an American softball player who was part of the gold-winning national team in the 2004 Athens Olympics. See photos, video and a biography of Jessica Mendoza here.
Jessica also took part in the Team Competition in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and was instrumental in securing the second place, winning the silver medal.
“Jessica is a five-tool player who would be making millions of dollars if she were a male,” says Olympic coach Mike Candrea. “But she is so unassuming she doesn’t have a clue to how good she is. She is constantly driven to become better.”
As a biography, Jessica Mendoza was born on 11 November 1980 in Camarillo, California so her age is 27. She graduated from Stanford in 2002 with a degree in American Studies and helped them to reach the College World Series for the first time in their history.
Mendoza was included in the Arizona Heat team during the PFX tour in 2006. She performed so well that she was named as the Softball player Of The Year in 2006. Jessica is also a two-time Pan American gold medalist, two-time World Cup champion, ISF World Championships gold medalist and Pan American Games champion in 2001.
Right now, Jessica is on the board of Women’s Sports Foundation and is also working as a color commentator for ESPN’s sports broadcasts. She also has her own branded performance instructional DVDs.
