Meet Kristin Armstrong, an American professional cyclist who won the Women’s Time Trial in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. See photos, video and a biography of Kristin Armstrong here.

Kristin, who is often confused with Lance Armstrong’s ex-wife, is not ready to slow down even at her age of 35 and is going pretty strong considering her recent wins. She is the favourite for the time trial event in the on-going World Championships in Italy.

As a biography, Kristin Armstrong was born on August 11, 1973 in Memphis, Tennessee. She attended high school in Japan and then got a degree in exercise physiology from the University of Idaho. The interesting thing is that Kristin has been a world class runner, swimmer and a tri-athlete before turning to cycling and becoming only the third American woman to win a World Championship elite event.

Kristin, who races for CervĂ©lo Lifeforce Pro Cycling Team, has won US National Time Trial Championships almost three times. She finished eight in the women’s road race during the 2004 Olympics, but won the gold in Beijing almost 25 secs. ahead of the silver medal finisher.

She currently lives in Boise, Idaho and serves as the Director of Aquatics of the pool at the Boise Family YMCA. Kristin is also shooting for a commercial these days for some milk products, given the fact that she always drinks milk after finishing a race.

Nice post! As a proud Idahoan, I’m so happy Kristin is from our great state. She’s down-to-earth, friendly, charismatic and genuine! She’s also a great athlete and a wonderful woman. Couldn’t ask for a better spokesperson for milk!
