Boo Weekley’s Ryder Cup performance was just one of six rookies who helped the U.S. to a 16 1/2 – 11 1/2 win over Europe a tthe Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville. The win finally ends the U.S. drought, after having lost to the Europeans the last three times.
Weekley clearly enjoyed himself on the course, where he could be seen using his driver like a stick horse and galloping on to the next hole.
“I wanted to hurry and get it over. I was ready to ride it to the house, because we were ready to celebrate.”
The fans rallied behind Boo, chanting ‘Boo-S-A, Boo-S-A‘ and sporting T-shirts that were either camouflage or had ‘Red, White & Boo’ written across the tee. He acknowledged that the crowd pumps him up.
“The crowds, they’re great and we want them to be behind us. This is our stage of being here and they want to see us win.”
