Cheyenne Woods, Tiger Woods’ niece, is certainly following in her uncle’s famous footsteps, as she was recently ranked 12th in the NCAA by Golfweek Magazine. As a freshman at Wake Forest University, her first tournament was at the Duramed NCAA Fall Preview, where the Demon Deacons placed ninth out 15 teams. Cheyenne’s 225 after three rounds tied her for 26th place out of a field of 75 players.

In an update from this September 2008 post, Cheyenne Woods is in the news today as Tiger Woods’ niece made her professional debut the Wegmans LPGA in Rochester after receiving a sponsor’s exemption. But at the Wegmans tournament she missed the cut proving that she will have her ups and downs on the tour unlike her famous uncle.
Does she feel the pressure? She told The Buffalo News:
“There is the expectation of ‘Woods. I’ve grown up with it. I’m used to having the title and seeing the headlines read ‘Tiger Woods’ niece.’ But I also want to make a name for myself.”

As a biography, Cheyenne Nicole Woods was born on July 25, 1990, so her age is 18. Her father, is Earl Woods, Jr., the son of Earl Woods, Sr. Tiger Woods is her uncle. Her mother, Susan Woods, divorced Earl Woods, Jr. when Cheyenne was 2 years old.
She attended Xavier College Preperatory High School in Phoenix, Arizona, where she was a member of the golf team and a four-time letterman at the school. Her teammates voted her Most Valuable Player three times. Cheyenne won Arizona 5A State championships two years in a row - 2006 and 2007. The Arizona Republic named her the 2007 Arizona High School Golfer of the Year.
Cheyenne currently attends Wake Forest University.
Although Cheyenne does not speak to Tiger very often, he serves as an inspiration to her:
“Just seeing him on TV and knowing that someone in my family is succeeding, it’s just really motivating,” she said.

didn’t know Tiger had a brother…where was he in all the family photos? Apparently they have different mothers, but it seems Daddy Woods had a favorite. Interesting how Chennye has golf in her blood when it sounds like she barely knew the other Woods growing up. She’s doing her thing, gotta love that!
