Former UFC light heavyweight champion, Chuck Liddell was knocked out by newcomer Rashad Evans during the second round at UFC 88 on September 6, 2008 in Atlanta, GA.
1:51 into the second round, Rashad Evans won the fight with a overhand right punch to Liddell’s jaw. Rashad Evans stays undefeated, while Liddell loses for the third time in his last four matches. Apparently this overhand right punch is Liddell’s weakness and is know to take him down.
This was once biggest fights in the promotion’s 16-year history because it was a student vs. teacher in the sense that Chuck Liddell ran the first season of The Ultimate Fighter reality show and that Rashad Evans won reality television series The Ultimate Fighter season two winner.
