Russian high jumper Ivan Ukhov has been accused of being drunk while competing at the Athletissima track meet in Switzerland on Tuesday. He could not even complete any of his jumps.
Several high jumpers informed officials that Ukhov was drinking Vodka and Red Bull during the competition.
The IAAF (International association of Athletics Federations) has asked Ukhov to explain his behavior during the competition.
“We will for sure ask for an explanation from the athlete about his behavior and ask that it is not repeated in the future.”
As a biography, Ivan Ukhov was born on April 4, 1986 in Chelyabinsk, Russia. Ukhov started out as a discus thrower and began high jumping in 2004. He was the European Junior Champion in 2005 and took first place in the high jump at the national Indoor Championships in 2007. You can see more of his career highlights here.
