And the Miss Basketball Crown Goes to…

Lithuanian Women Basketball League sought an alternative way to promote the female competition in that European country. Lithuanians believe that women playing in their local clubs tournaments are the most beautiful in the basketball world. To prove it the League, together with newspaper Lietuvos Rhyton, did photo sessions with the most beautiful girls from seven professional teams in the elite. The website created for Miss Basketball which you can access here “gives the fans a chance to vote for their favorite girls in the League.

Texas A&M Bonfire 10 Year Anniversary

The Texas A&M Bonfire of 1999 is one we will never forget. 12 people lost their lives, and 27 more were injured. Tomorrow, November 18th, marks the 10 year anniversary of that tragic day in which the bonfire collapsed. Read more below.

After her two year suspension in 2007 for her positive testing on cocaine, Professional tennis player Martina Hingis decided to hit the dance floor in Strictly Come Dancing.

It has been two years after her positive testing on cocaine, but Martina decided she will leave tennis behind for three reasons - she didn’t want to be in a constant battle with doping officials, her age and health problems. At that time Martina Hingis was frustrated with the results calling them “horrendous and monstrous”.

Michelle Wie’s golf career started at a very young age, but it hasn’t been easy, she had faced disqualifications, injuries, but today the 20 year old Michelle Wie has won the Lorena Ochoa Invitational. The event was hosted by Lorena Ochoa in Guadalajara Mexico presented by Banamex and Corona Light (both Major Companies in Mexico).

Since November 9 we were able to enjoy reading Andre Agassi´s stunning Memoir in his book Open: it took him two and a half to three years and millions of words to come with this amazing story of his life from childhood to the man he is today.

Some people might be asking why at this point of life, but as he explained: “because I want people know the real Andre the person not just Andre the former tennis player.” Did you know that Andre started playing tennis at a very young age, but he didn’t like it, in fact he hated it and still does, his father made him learn. He recalls “Nobody asked me if I want to play tennis, let alone make it my life”. When Andre wrote this book his father let him know he wasn’t planning in reading it, he argues that he already knew all the process it took for Andre to become the tennis player he was, because he was there all the way, and if he had the opportunity to do it all over he will, except he wouldn’t choose tennis he will rather choose other sport like soccer or baseball.
